Entrevista a Dannie desde Praga

Tenemos el privilegio de poder estrenarnos de la mano de una artista internacional que ha sacado hace unos días su álbum debut Colors of light. Abrochaos bien los cinturones por que despegamos rumbo a Praga para conocer a Dannie. Desde aquí queremos darle las gracias de todo corazón a Dannie por concedernos esta entrevista y ser nuestra madrina de lujo.

Queremos enviarle también un fuerte abrazo a su manager J.Spring por su enorme profesionalidad y por lo mucho que nos ha facilitado el trabajo. Han sido muchas horas de trabajo enviando y contestando mails, redactando las pregustas y todo ello en Ingles. Pero realmente ha merecido la pena, espero que lo hayáis disfrutado. hasta la próxima

Hola Dannie! ¿Que tal estas? En primer lugar gracias por concedernos esta entrevista. Para la gente que no te conoce en España, puedes hacerles una pequeña presentación.

Estoy muy bien, gracias  en pocas palabras…soy una mujer, amante, hija, sobrina, nieta, cantante, artista y una persona muy optimista :).

Sabemos que estas trabajando en tu álbum debut “Colors of Light” ¿Qué nos encontraremos en el? ¿Qué artista han colaborado tanto nivel vocal como en la producción?

Se trata de un álbum de R&B con un poco de Soul, Neo Soul, Reggaeton y Hip-Hop. Hay muchos invitados en mi disco como el cantante de mi banda Sixin-Andreas, mi madre Athina Langoska, el famoso cantante Checo Jiří Korn, los raperos checos y eslovacos Čistychov, Vladimir 518 of the hip hop crew PSH, Delik of Moja Reč, los raperos americanos Nironic and Antwi. Los mejores productores checos/eslovacos DJ Wich, Split, DTonate, DJ Enemy y Jojo Engerer, y en ultimo lugar y no por ello menos importante Verse Atile desde Canadá.

Has descartado algún track de los que tenias preparados para el álbum? Si es así, podremos encontrárnoslo en alguna mixtape o quizás en un futuro álbum?

¿La verdad? no lo hice. En primer lugar he seleccionado los 14 ritmos antes de pensar en que será lo próximo y en segundo lugar creo que siempre hay algo en cada canción.

Vamos a hablar de la producción, ¿aparte de los beatmakers que aparecen en el disco, ¿colabora algún otro músico? si tuvieras la oportunidad ¿con que artistas te gustaría trabajar en el futuro?

Si, hay mucha instrumentación en este disco, Me gustaria destacar especialmente a Lucas Bartos de Sixin en la guitarra y Lukas Marecek en el piano. Básicamente mi album esta lleno de beatmakers y músicos.en el futuro me encantaria trabajar con Laurin Hill o Missy Elliott.

¿Qué te inspira para componer las letras? Te basas en vivencias personales o en historias que les suceden a otras personas.

Se basan siempre en la historia de mi vida. Pero, por supuesto si alguien necesita para escribir letras, yo puedo escribir su historia 

¿Cómo vas a plantear los directos, iras acompañada de una banda o con un Dj? ¿Tienes planeado hacer una gira Europea? Si es así, nos encantaría verte en España.

Ambos, Después de terminar mi gira por republica checa y Eslovaquia, me gustaría viajar por todo el mundo, así que estoy deseando visitar España.

¿Cómo ves la escena r&b en tu país? ¿Y a nivel Europeo? Háblanos también del resto de estilos dentro de la música urbana ¿Cuál es el mas representativo en tu opinión?

El R&b en la republica checa es una especie de nuevo estilo, Tenemos una escena de hip-hop muy buena, pero no muchos artista de r&b,espero que algún día la cosa cambie. Para mi el mas representativo es el Neo Soul esta muy cerca del Jazz pero aún mantiene el ambiente y el ritmo del Blues.

Nos encanta el single y el video de “let´s make it right” que has sacado con Dj Wich ¿vas a grabar más videoclips?

Si, por supuesto. Dj Wich es un gran amigo mío, esta colaborando con muchos rappers famosos en Usa y Europa sin ningún tipo de pretensiones, es el mejor colaborador que conozco. Creo que es el mejor productor que hay en Europa a día de hoy. Mi equipo y yo tenemos en mente realizar un videoclip de todas y cada una de las canciones del álbum, pero no estoy segura de si tendremos el tiempo suficiente para hacerlo. Ahora mismo acabamos de publicar el videoclip de Strong Woman.

Cuantos algo sobre ti ¿Qué música suena en tu ipod? Quienes son tus influencias?

Algo personal? Me encanta el amor y me encantan las entrevistas  El artista mas importante para mi, es mi madre, ella es actriz y cantante. Michael Jackson es muy importante para mi, también te diría Lauryn Hill, Brian McKnight y Mariah Carey.

Vamos a meterte en un pequeño aprieto ¿escuchas música española? Si es así ¿podrías nombrarnos algún artista?

Me encantan las letras en español, ya que es muy similar a la griega que es natural para mi,Mi opinión personal es que el español es un idioma muy sexy. Me gustan Maná, Shakira, Manu Chao, wisin y Yandel y una banda de reggae que tenemos en republica checa formada por músicos chechos, franceses y españoles que se llama United Flavor, la cantante se llama Carmen Mojeron y es andaluza. Recomiendo su música!

Mi película favorita es el laberinto de fauno, el mejor libro para mi es el maestro y Margarita de Michael Bulgakov y mi disco favorito es history de Michael Jackson.

Hi Dannie, how are you? In first place thanks for this interview. For all people who don’t know you in Spain, You can tell us a few words about you.

– I am very fine, thank you  A few words?… I am a woman, lover, daughter, niece, cousin, granddaughter, singer, artist, entertainer and very optimistic person 

We know that you’re going to release your debut album «Colors Of Light», What can we find on it? What vocal artists and music producers have participated in this album?

– It is an R&B album with a bit of soul, neo soul, reggaeton and hip hop. There are many guests on my album such as a singer of my band Sixin – Andreas, my mother Athina Langoska, Czech famous singer Jiří Korn, Czech and Slovak rappers Čistychov, Vladimir 518 of the hip hop crew PSH, Delik of Moja Reč, American rappers Nironic and Antwi. There are the best Czech/Slovak hip hop producers on the beat such as DJ Wich, Split, DTonate, DJ Enemy and Jojo Engerer and the last but not least Canadian producer Verse-Atile.

Have you discarded any track at the recording? It will be in any mixtape or new album?

– Honestly? I didn’t. Firstly I carefully selected all the 14 instrumentals before making sure it will be the right lime light hit and secondly I think there is always something good on each song 

Let´s talk about the album production. Have you worked with other musicians in addition of the beatmakers? If you have the chance, With whom artists would you like to collaborate?

– Yes, many of the instruments in my songs are live recorded. I would like to name especially Luke Bartos of Sixin on guitar and Lukas Marecek on piano. Basically my album is full of the beatmakers/musicians collaborations. In the future I would really love to work with Lauryn Hill or Missy Elliott.

What inspires you for compose the lyrics? Are them your personal experiences or just stories of other people?

– It is always based on the story of my life. But of course if somebody needs me to write lyrics for them I can write their story 

How will be the shows, with a band or a DJ? Have you planned a European tour? We´d like see your show in Spain…

– Both of them. Just after I finish my tour in Czech Republic and Slovakia I would like to travel all over the world so I am looking forward to see people in Spain also!

How do you see the R&B in your country? And in Europe? Tell us something about the other urban music styles… Which is the most representative as your opinion?

– R&B in Czech Republic is kind of a new style. We have a really good hip hop basement but not many R&B singers and artists. I hope that it will change. For me, the most representative is neo soul. It is very close to jazz but still has this rhythm and blues vibe.

We love the single with Wich DJ and the video clip…Will you record more videos together?

– Yes, definitely! Dj Wich is a very good friend of mine. He was collaborating with many famous rappers in US and Europe and he is still unpretentious and the best cooperator I know. I think he is the best producer in Europe nowadays. Me and my team have an idea to make a video to each song included on the album but I am not sure if I will have enough time to make it. Right now, I just released a new video for my second single Strong Woman.

Tell us something personal about you, What music sounds on your iPod? Who are your influences?

– Something personal? I love to love. And I really love interviews  The most important artist for me is my mother. She is a vocalist, musical singer and actor. Michael Jackson’s had a very big place in my music world, then of course Lauryn Hill, Brian McKnight and Mariah Carey.

A hard question… Have you ever listen Spanish music? Could you name some artists?

– I love Spanish lyrics because it is quite similar to Greek lyrics which is natural for me as a Greek. My personal opinion is that the Spanish language is very sexy. I like Maná, Shakira, Manu Chao, Visin y Yandel and a very good reggae band from Czech Republic, Spain and France which is called United Flavour. They have a cool singer with such a cool voice, she is from Andalusia and her name is Carmen Morejon. I recommend their music.

– My favorite movie is Faun’s Labyrinth, the best book for me is The Master and Margarita of Michail Bulgakov and the favorite album is Michael Jacskon’s History.
